We celebrated father day this morning with a visit from the classifier!

So for our non cow friends, classifying cows is a tool that we use. We pay a fee to Holstein USA to to send a classifier out to score the cows. Higher the score simply means a more correct functional structured cow.

Today we scored 15 cows that are ours or cows that we care for.

* Five two year olds (first calf), scores ranged from 79points to 83 points

*seven cows (with 3 or more lactations), scores ranged from 81 points to 88 points. Most of these girls all gained a point or two from being scored last year.

Chilipepper is growing well! One of the best feelings as a dairy breeder is watching a heifer do so well for someone else.

The Ohio Fall All Breeds Sale is November 23, 2024 in Wooster. We will be sending two September calves this year. Not sure of their lot numbers yet but check out the pictures and descriptions below.

Both heifers are sired by Hard Core Secret Fireplace. We are very happy with these daughters and I look forward to see how they grow into mature cows! Check out the pictures of our other Fireplace Daughters from shows this year, these heifers were bought or lease this past year.

The dams of both heifers are Weissway Queensryche, both first calf heifers. So far our Queensryche daughters are moderate frame with tight correct udders while walking on good legs.

Any questions please ask! Sorry for the quality of pictures and the dirty cows, I'm trying to readjust to life with a newborn 😊
