Just learned Perdue hatches around 12 MILLION chicks a week… 😳

So I guess I can stop feeling guilty about my little 60+ chick hatch over here at Newberry Acres. 😂🐣

Plant shopping for Newberry Acres today and somehow the cart filled itself again 🌿😂

A little color, a little chaos, and probably not enough room left to plant in. Between the deep purple vines, bright blooms, silver foliage, and all the cactus temptation… we may have gotten carried away.

Nothing better than walking through a greenhouse dreaming up new planter combos and summer projects for the farm. Now the hard part begins — figuring out where everything is going to go. 🌸🪴

A little bit of summer is starting to show itself here at Newberry Acres 🍑🌿

Our peach trees are officially showing off tiny peaches, and somehow every year it still feels a little magical seeing that first fuzz-covered fruit hanging on the branch. From late frosts to wind and wild Virginia weather, these trees have been through it already this season — but they’re pushing right along.

Now we wait, water, pray against the squirrels, and dream about peach cobbler. ☀️

It’s happening — hatch day is officially underway! 💛

The first little peeps are breaking through, and we’re seeing those tiny cracks (pips) turn into something amazing. The incubator is full of life right now, and the excitement is REAL!

Right now we’re watching:
🐥 First pips and tiny beaks peeking through
🐥 Wiggly little fighters working their way out
🐥 The start of a whole lot of fluff coming soon

This is the most magical (and hardest to be patient!) part — but we know more babies are on the way!

Stay tuned… it’s about to get VERY fluffy around here! 🐣💛
