It has been a long time since I updated our customers and kind friends of the lavender farm on this page. The farm actually suffered a lot of loss this year due to our cold wet overcast spring. Most of it remains but it will take a lot of work and some time to restore it to full glory.

The real news is that my husband and I made the difficult decision to sell the farm to our next door neighbors so that we could focus on our children and also, my health. It had become too much to manage for me and I could not be what I ought for my family. A major course correction was unavoidable for us and we have relocated to the Grand Rapids area to be near our church, Simon’s job, and the kids’ school. We are already enjoying our new home and the benefits of being near our church community and my doctors. Honestly, I cried a lot in this decision, but I am truly relieved to be able to focus on my vocations as wife and mother and for Simon to be thriving in his work so near by.

I am so thankful for the abundance that God bestowed on us in our family, our land, the lavender farm, and the sweet relationships we met along the way. We will miss tending the lavender and harvesting it with you. Many of you have called asking about the farm and I am so grateful for your friendship and loyalty. The wonderful new owners intend to continue the business alongside their children and will need your support.

Well, it’s been an amazing season here at Lone Tree Lavender farm and I think that we are wrapping it all up this week. There will be a second flush in August of our English varieties and maybe even some of the Grosso that we cut in June since we had such an early spring!

We will still have products for sale and will be posting about those and working on setting up an online store for them. If you still want to come out to the farm by appointment that is welcome. Just call or message us. Thank you to MJane Photography who brought a lot of business our way with her gorgeous photography sessions! Thank you to everyone who came all the way out and picked lavender and have been encouraging us in this enterprise. It was truly lovely meeting all of you! It’s only year three but we have made a lot of progress and are excited for the future. We are open! We have some brand new products (fancy labels are underway). In blue bottles we have English lavender hydrosol which is a multi purpose soothing skin care. Hydrosol and essential oil are the two products of steam distillation. Our essential oil must age for a few months before we release it as a product. But hydrosol is wonderful as a facial toner, diaper rash soother, bug spray, and all around refreshing lavender water, made on site through our steam distillation process. We are also testing out our new LavenDIN hydrosol, which is made from the big Grosso plants in the field. Lavendins are high in camphor and therefore have a stimulating fragrance. The spray has deodorizing, anti inflammatory, antiseptic, and respiratory benefits. I’ve been using as a multipurpose cleaner this week (mixed with vinegar) and as a room spray, and I must say I am very pleased! Please stop by to pick some bouquets, drink lemonade made with Lavender Simple Syrup, and try our new hydrosols!

We’re open as long as the sun is shining! Storm blew over but it’s a gorgeous evening to have some lavender lemonade by a field of lavender.

Doing some recovery from the rain storm yesterday but we are still open! Had lots of people out to the farm today getting their big fresh bundles, sachets, lavender syrups, and cute photos!
