I’m a little late posting this…but we ad a pretty good cook The Real Squeal: Lyons Barbeque & Music Festival this weekend!! It’s been about 4mos from our last full comp, so definitely had to knock some rust off!!! But we closed all 4 lids and had a great time catching up with friends! Here’s how it shook out:

🐔 17th - one of our higher finishes this season
🐷 ribs 24th - no comment cards so no idea what they didn’t like
🐷 pork 29th - really thought we had nailed that a little better
🐮 brisket 11th - should have bought into the Wild Child 😂😂

Up next is the Chicken Festival and Cook Off in Gainesville on 10/18 and the ABS Classic in Cu***ng on 11/15!!

GOOOOD MORNING! Smoke is rollin’, the flag is flying and we are excited to be at the 3rd Annual Cooking with the Vets competition in Cartersville, GA!!! We had a great time hanging out with old and new friends yesterday. Smoked some great wings, drank a little beer and shot the bull 😜

Looking forward to helping raise money to help our brave men and women who served this great country in the US Armed Forces! 🇺🇸

This is how it started…and this is how it ended! Unfortunately, we lost a chicken house to fire last Monday night!! Our thanks to Hall County FD stations 1, 7 and 10 for their quick response. Nothing could be done to save that house, but they kept it from spreading to other houses on the property!!

We ended the week in a high note with the Annual City of Gainesville Christmas Parade Sunday afternoon!! So thankful for friends and family that came out to join us…we love y’all!!

The 19th Annual Gainesville Chicken Cook Off is in the books and the Grand Champion trophy is back where it belongs!!! 🔥🐔🔥

We had 8 turn-ins in 4 categories in 2.5hrs PLUS served several hundred pounds of chicken to the hungry public!! All 8 of our turn-ins placed in the top 4 and our overall score gave us the GC!

We could not have done any of this without help from friends and family: Chris Goswick, Samantha Summerville, Ashley Abernathy, Melony Yonce Chandler, Brannan Chandler, Chris and Sheila Gillespie and Gary Z!! Y’all rocked the friers, the smokers, the grill, the stew and serving everyone with a smile!!

Of course, I can’t forget our very own adorable mascot…Mr Mo!!! And a special shout out to Scott Scott’s Smoke Shack Bbq for the chicken egg roll recipe…that put us over the top!!!

We have one more competition for this BBQ season…look for us in Cu***ng in November for the Atlanta BBQ Store Classic!

We had hoped to be competing in Baxley, GA this weekend. Unfortunately Hurricane Helene had other plans. Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and family in South GA and Tampa FL as they clean up and start putting their homes and businesses back together. We were very lucking…only out of power for 8hrs on Friday…thankful that all of the chicken house generators kept the heat on for the new chicks we got last week! Had a marathon on Friday afternoon getting 4 houses ready for baby chicks that could not be put in near Douglas GA due to the loss of 100 chicken houses to storm damage! Finally got them in early this morning!! Now we have smoke rolling in the driveway…we will be eating some high dollar meat this evening!!! 🔥🐂🐔🐷🔥
