Artisan wood creations and select home decor are our specialty. What began as an interest in trying my hand at an “end grain” cutting board evolved into a love for creating intricately patterned cutting boards, cheese boards and other items. The grain and color of various hardwoods was fascinating. Eventually, the procurement of an inexpensive lathe
led to the discovery of a passion for woodturning.........and a line of finely crafted pepper and salt grinders . A few months in and it was time to graduate to acquiring a better lathe:). Over time a simple home shop in Northwest Georgia has grown in size and equipment (various saws, drill press, lathe, drum sander, jointer, dust collection system, etc :) to accommodate the ever growing product line, each item hand produced, finished and signed by The Prodigal Carpenter himself. At the heart of what we do is a love for seeing things transformed..........a piece of raw wood into a thing of beauty or an individual life from meaninglessness to divine purpose..... there’s joy in the process and reward in the result.
