This 40 quail egg fry is equivalent to 13-15 chicken eggs, about 1/2 inch thick and was inspired by  guesses from our quail egg challenge.  I was able to finish it for breakfast, but now at 2:30 still have no desire to eat lunch.

R.I.P. “Whitey” Leghorn was our alpha rooster since we started F3.  His previous owner told us he was a very mild tempered and about three years old when we got him.  he was never aggressive towards us as we moved about the flock, but was a fierce defender of true threats. I remember about a year ago, seeing a large hawk fly out of the chicken yard after it had tried to get one of his hens.  Even though he had some crimson stain on his other wise white feathers, he was still keeping watch to make sure the predator did not try again.  During his last week as leader and protector of the flock, we watched him teach the new chicks where and how to get food and to drink from the water.  He served us well for three years, during the last half of his life. He died at about six years of age, which is typical for his breed. He will be missed by us and his flock.

Congrats to our challenger winners, the Correct answer is 30. It was a lot bigger than I expected, and could just barely finish it for breakfast!

Update: Our perfectly & delicious eggs are still available, as usual, but the Ugly, Blemished and Medium size are gone ——
$3.00 Limited quantity chicken egg sale in 2 “normal” styrofoam containers at our corner stand.  These are good eggs. We normally use these Ugly, Blemished, or Medium size eggs that don’t meet F3’s standard to earn our name and label, but  thought our followers might like the opportunity to save some$$.  we will update the post with sold out as soon as we find out they are no longer available available. Let us know in the comments below if you would like to see more specials like this in the future.

We just finished preparing fresh quail eggs and chicken eggs a few hours ago. Now it’s time to get to bed and rest up for our afternoon Cambria Sunday Farmer’s Market. Hope to see you there 1:00 to 4:00.

AWSOME UPDATE! We will be at Cambria Sunday Farmer’s Market this coming Sunday 1:00-4:00. Thanks to our quail and chickens who seem to be working overtime putting out eggs lately.  come check out all the great vendors at this local market and Golden Goodies.
