One of our favorite parts of being in this business is watching stories and friendships unfold over time.

Back when we lambed out “Goose”, little did we know the impact he would have on us and so many others.

Hearing that Raider named his Houston market lamb “Goose” brought a big smile to both of our faces!

A heartfelt congratulations is going out to Raider McPhaul on your recent BIG success of being named Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo❗️

Hey there! 👋🏼📸 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲!

Putting a face behind the name, I am Gretchen!

Welcome to Stock Shots by Gretchen - my creative outlet for livestock photography and marketing. What started as an interest in photography and a need for marketing our own animals has developed and grown into something beyond my expectation! While some use the term "professional," I believe there is still so much more growth to be done!

Get to know me - I am a mom to 2 and together with my husband and father-in-law we operate a club lamb operation in North East Indiana. I am self taught in everything I have learned for livestock photography and graphic design (I bought my first camera off a real estate agent on Facebook marketplace) - the growth has been unreal! It would be rare for me to show up to a session without a coffee or a McDonald’s Coke in hand.

What started as a fun adventure to help local producers has now allowed me to connect with a variety of people across more than just Indiana, view thousands of animals from behind my lens and grow this business! I would love your help to get to 𝟏𝐊 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 on Facebook - so let's do a giveaway! Share this post publicly (I have to be able to see it), or share this post and come back and comment what you hate most about picture day, make sure to 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 and I will enter each person into a drawing to receive a graphic design of their choice! Sire promotion, highlight banner, social media graphic - it's your decision. Share this post before Friday, March 13 to be entered. Winner will be drawn Friday evening!

Thanks for supporting 🫶🏽

💡 Tips from Kim & Karen:

Thanks to a combined 25+ years of raising and marketing sheep, one thing we’re reminded of EVERY one of those years is that this is a high stress time for new lambs! Weaning, showcasing & moving to new homes equals ALOT of change in a short period of time.

Our best advice 👉🏻 Be patient. Take time to help them get adjusted to all the new things in their life; new people new barn new smells new food new water, etc.

Also, watch for red flags, like going off feed, not drinking, diarrhea. Take quick action & call in reinforcements from the breeder or a veterinarian if you need it!
