David Earl Butcher, Jr.
1975-2024
David Butcher was born in Denison, Texas on July 18, 1975, to Joann McAden Butcher and
David Earl Butcher, Sr. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday October
11, 2024, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison after a bravely fought battle with cancer.
David achieved many things in his life, from the many years learning different technical
processes at MEMC to furthering his education by graduating from Grayson College with an
Associate’s degree in Applied Science in 2016 and more recently traveling as a Set and
Service Merchandiser. He also professed his belief in Jesus Christ as his Savior to several
people during his last weeks of life.
His greatest accomplishment, was and always will be, his daughter, Avary Butcher. You
could always see pride in his eyes when he talked about Avary or when he would watch her
on the field playing soccer. He would be on the sidelines cheering her on, as he will
continue to do so from above.
David is survived by his daughter Avary Evangeline Butcher of Denison, Texas; brother
Gregory Lynn McAden and sister-in-law Stacy McAden of Hawthorne, California; nephews
Christian Hampton and Tanner McAden, niece Bailey McAden, as well as his only surviving
uncle, David McAden and his wife Johnis from Denison; cousins and many close friends
including Noah Brasher, Patrick Davis, Amanda Davis, Michael Fryar, Timothy Fryar, Tony
Fryar and Bryan Womack.
He was preceded in death by his father David Earl Butcher, Sr. in 2014, his loving mother
Joann Ramsey in 2021, and his stepfather Ronald Ramsey in 2022. He was also preceded
in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
To know David was to know a true friend. He was kind, funny and thoughtful. His memory
lives on in Avary as well as all of us who loved him. He will be missed.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Southside Baptist Church, 3500 S. Park
Ave., Denison, Texas at 11:00 am on Saturday October 26, 2024, with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or church.
