Rosie gave us twin ewes this morning and Erma our dairy ewe gave us twin rams last night.

Which gives us four sets of twins so far. Making it 5 ewes and 3 rams so far. We have a ways to go yet.

What a crazy few days of lambing season. We had a set of ram/ ewe twins from our hair sheep. We lost the ewe. Mom had rejected her and we did everything possible but we assume she had something internal wrong.

Then this morning at 3 am Mocha who is our dairy sheep had twin ewes!!! They are doing great! I love their long legs.

Now for our other dairy girl to lamb. Then we will be able to start milking in a couple weeks.

We finally have lambs on the ground! One ewe and one ram! A whole lot more to go!!!

Ready to own a highland bull calf? 🥹

“Samson” is looking for a new farm this winter (end of January)!

His mom & dad (HHCA registered) both thrive on grass/hay alone and have the BEST personalities. His mom calved with ease and has been a great mom! His dad threw 7/8 heifers! I expect this guy to be a great bull!

So I took my chances and went out to try to get pictures of all the animals out on pasture and the only one to cooperate was Blossom!

I feel like a real dairy sheep farmer now!!

The first thing I made with our sheep milk was feta cheese and oh my goodness is it so good! I used recipe from her book. I cannot wait to make so many more of her recipes.

We are loving having our dairy girls here on the farm. I now want 10+ more.

We have been spending time getting a milking parlor ready as the weather gets colder. My new milking stanchion should be here next week.
