**Layla has found her new home**

Layla is looking for a new herd! 🥹🥹

She’s a 3 year old Nigerian dwarf doe. Unregistered.

Trained to the stand, but we have kept her as a pet, so she has never freshened. She was very loved on our farm and was a bottle kid, but we have moved to keeping only Mini Nubians and need to keep our numbers in check.

Great stand behavior for a goat that has never been in milk. Up to date on CDT and hoof trim.
Clean tested herd.

Just a little Lazarus update! Little man is healing good as far as we can tell. He’s got a ways to go and there’s still a few unknowns, but for now he’s happy, active, and playful.

Such a huge blessing packed up in a tiny package. He spends his days out with the other kids and is the most playful of the bunch. We do sneak him inside for feedings and rest 😊🐐.

✨ ✨Meet Lazarus ✨✨

This little guy was born Monday night without an “exit on his bottom”. It’s called atresia ani. It’s pretty rare in goats. The kind of thing I’ve only ever read about, but never thought would happen on my farm. It’s usually fatal. Even if they undergo surgery, it is rarely successful in goats. We knew this guy deserved a shot at life. Happy to report the surgery was a success and this little guy is on the mend. He stopped breathing on the operating table, but Dr. Lauren at thumb vet was able to bring him back and successfully complete the procedure. Definitely add it to “the craziest things I’ve seen farming” list. He will be wethered and will stay on our farm forever.

He’s not out of the woods yet. Lots of healing and rest to come.

We are counting our blessings today and appreciate all the healing prayers and support sent his way.

I can’t say enough about thumb vet. What Dr. Lauren was able and willing to do today was nothing short of incredible.

Bonnie finished off our kidding season with two bucklings last night. This little guy will be available in a few weeks as a combo raised bottle kid. Id say my birthday present this year was perfect 🤣🤣

No better way to celebrate your birthday as a goat breeder then with the birth of a healthy kid! Unwrapped my gift at 9 am, unintentionally put it to use by 930.

Josh got me new durnin lightweight waterproof bibs and Merrell short summer chore boots that I’ve wanted for awhile. Kidding and milking can be messy, and I’m all for some bibs over my clothes while out in the yard. If you’ve seen me around doing chores/milking, you know. I moved berkey to the kidding stall at about 920 expecting to have the day. Went inside and tried on my new stuff, decided to wear it outside to test, and came out to a heathy singleton for berkey.

Tags are still on, but they are already broken in and passed the test!🤣🤣 Durnin Farm and Ranch Wear Merrell

Ears for days, just like daddy Jay Jay. She will surely have an udder to back it up from her dam and grand dam.

Triplets again for bliss this afternoon. Two bucklings and 1 doeling. Man do they ever look like daddy Jay Jay & their granddam Bonnie, but with papa Jaspers (grand sire) big ole noggin & strong Roman noses. Bliss carried them for 150 days and none came out looking a single thing like her 😆😆
