Well, apparently you all like your meat as much as I do… because you’ve cleaned me out. 😂

I suppose it’s time for a little BEEF update since all I’ve talked about lately is harvest!

First things first, our beef store is STILL OPEN by appointment!

Here’s what we’re working with:

Ground beef: SOLD OUT until January. That was supposed to last me through December, but apparently nobody asked my permission.

Roasts: Just a couple left!

Premium steaks: Fully stocked!

Beef sticks & wieners: Still plenty to go around! And who doesn’t love a good wiener? 😉

We’re also booking beef shares into February 2027!

And while we’re talking about next year, I want to give you all a little heads-up. We may have to make some adjustments to our share pricing in 2027.

Trust me, raising prices isn’t something we get excited about. We’ve always tried to keep our beef reasonably priced because we know groceries aren’t getting any cheaper for your families either.

But if you’ve been keeping an eye on the cattle markets, you know there’s not much relief in sight. We’re paying those same high prices to bring replacement cattle onto the farm, and when selling a beef share doesn’t even cover what it costs to replace that animal, we’ve got some figuring to do.

We’re not looking to get rich off anyone’s dinner table. We’re just trying to make sure we can keep putting good beef on it for years to come.

And that’s the part I hope you’ll always remember. When you buy beef from us, you know exactly where it comes from, who’s raising it, what it’s eating, and the family standing behind it.

We’re a first-generation farm, raising cattle, raising kids, and trying to build something that’ll last.

We appreciate every single family that chooses to fill their freezer with our beef. You truly are what keeps this little operation going.

Even if you did completely ruin my ground beef inventory plans. 😂

The house needs cleaning, the laundry needs folding, and there’s a million other things I should be doing… but we brought lunch out to the field and decided to take a little break from all that. 😂❤️

So here we are, piled into the tractor with Kevin, hauling grain and enjoying a little family time.

The laundry will still be there when we get home. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to make it disappear on its own. 🙄

But these little moments? They don’t last forever. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that sometimes the best thing you can do is put the to-do list down and just enjoy the life you’re working so hard to build.

Besides, I think Millie makes a pretty cute grain cart supervisor. ❤️

Well, seven hogs were harvested this morning, we’re doing a little custom harvesting for a friend, hauled a load of beans in, and we’re switching the combine back over to corn this evening.

Just another peaceful, relaxing day around here. 😂

BUTTTTT I’ve been keeping a little secret from all of you.

Dramatic pause for absolutely no reason.

October is our LAST month harvesting beef until JANUARY.

Yep. You read that right.

Now, before anybody gets their britches in a bunch, the freezers are FULL. Beef sticks, premium steaks, ground beef, all the good stuff!

BUT what we have in stock has to last us until January.

So this is me officially NOT encouraging you to come stock your freezers. Nope. Absolutely not. Please don’t come buy all my beef sticks, all beef weiners, all premium beautiful steaks, and ground beef. Which reminds me, I should probably add all that stock on the website so you all can order online 😅

I would actually appreciate it if you all just pretended you didn’t read this.

Because if there’s one thing you all have taught me this year, it’s that I can have five coolers full of beef one morning and be wondering what the heck happened to it by supper.

In all seriousness, we’re so incredibly thankful for how much you’ve supported our little family farm this year. We’re wrapping up our harvesting season, but we’re NOT closing up shop!

We’ll be here all winter, hopefully with beef still in the freezers. That last part is apparently up to you folks. ❤️

Alright, this is your LAST call for pork!

Our beautiful babes are heading to The Meat Shop in Tomah THIS WEDNESDAY, and once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Half Hog: $300
Whole Hog: $500

And I don’t mean gone until next year. I mean these are the last hogs EVER coming through Peaceful Valley Cattle Co.

Why? Well, it’s called Peaceful Valley CATTLE Co., not Peaceful Valley Swine Co. 😂 Took us a few years to figure that one out apparently.

But seriously, we’ve enjoyed raising pigs, and they’ve treated us well. It’s just time to put all our attention back into what we started this whole thing for. BEEF!

So here’s the deal. If you’ve been tossing around the idea of filling your freezer with farm-raised pork, you’re officially running out of time.

No next batch. No waiting until spring. No changing your mind in a month.

Wednesday is it!

Two minutes of your time isn’t worth somebody else’s life.

It’s harvest season, and that means you’re going to see a lot more tractors, combines, and farm equipment on the roads.

I get it. You’re in a hurry. You’ve got places to be, kids to pick up, supper to make, and probably a million other things going on.

But here’s something I wish more people would think about.

That farmer you’re stuck behind? That’s somebody’s husband, wife, dad, mom, grandpa, grandma, brother, sister, son, or daughter.

Somebody is waiting for them to come home.

And here’s a little reminder. Under Wisconsin State Statute 346.09(3)(b), it is ILLEGAL to pass farm machinery in a designated no-passing zone. Even if that tractor is only going 15 mph.

Now let’s put this into perspective.

If you’re following a tractor going 20 mph for one mile, it’s going to take you 3 minutes.

If you were going 55 mph, it would take you about 1 minute.

That’s less than TWO MINUTES of your day.

Heck, you probably sit longer than that at a couple of stoplights in town without thinking twice about it.

But somehow, when it’s a tractor in front of us, those two minutes become the most important two minutes of our lives.

Farm equipment is big. We make wide turns. Sometimes we’re turning into field entrances you might not even notice. And believe me, we’re not out there going 20 mph because we enjoy holding up traffic. 😂

We’re just trying to get our crops off, take care of our farms, and get home to our families.

When you decide to pass in a no-passing zone, you’re not just risking that farmer’s life. You’re risking your own, your passengers’, and everyone else’s on that road.

I think sometimes we get so caught up in where we’re going that we forget about the people around us.

So please, this harvest season, have a little patience. Slow down, give us some room, and remember there’s a real person sitting in that cab.

You might be inconvenienced for two minutes, but somebody’s family could be missing them for a lifetime.

And I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a pretty darn good reason to slow down.

Yep. This is the whole damn point.

Not the acres. Not the beef. Not the equipment. Not how much gets done in a day.

It’s dirty shirts, grass-stained knees, little arms around your neck, kisses on chubby cheeks, and kids growing up right alongside the work.

This is what it’s all about. ❤️

This weekend is the FINAL Saturday of the Sparta Farmers Market and yours truly will be there, once again being way too excited about meat.

Basically I’m rolling into Sparta with a ridiculous amount of beef and a dream.

It’s also my final kidless Saturday 😩😂 which sounds relaxing until you remember it’s smack dab in the middle of combine season, so apparently my version of a “day off” is standing in Creek Side or Muellers Square (not sure which one yet) talking about meat with strangers.

Which, apparently, I enjoy a little too much. 😂

Let’s make the last Saturday a GOOD one.

A little appreciation post for our Dolly. ❤️

We got her for Hank’s first birthday, and she’s been putting up with us ever since. Four kids later, I’m pretty sure if we brought home one more baby she would’ve packed her little Rottweiler suitcase and left. 😂

She’s a Serbian Rottweiler, but more than anything, she’s been one of the constants in our family. She’s helped me raise these kids right alongside me. She’s watched babies come home, toddlers climb all over her, kids grow up, and life change a hundred different ways.

Neither Kevin nor I grew up with Rottweilers, but after Dolly, I don’t think we’ll ever be without one.

She’s been steady, loyal, protective, patient, and just… our rock through all of it.

Good girl, Dolly. You’ve earned every gray hair those kids are eventually going to give you. 😂❤️
