Whiskey Friday - Pine Bluffs Distilling

Our Professors recently took a tour of the Pine Bluffs Distillery. We helped bottle the Triticale Bourbon. They made lunch for us, and we helped them pick a barrel for an upcoming double oak project. Then we sampled many barrels from their barrelhouse. We had 1275 to pick from. Join us as we sample 5 of their recent offerings and recap our shenanigans from our visit in July.

Our Lineup:
American Single Malt, Vol. 1
Nate Romanowski Straight Rye
Hell on Wheels Single Barrel
Oat Whiskey
No Country for Old Trits - Triticale Bourbon

This event is for registered members and guests only and is not open to the public.

BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR!!!! There are no places to sit on the patio, so bring your own. Instead of whiskey, we will have summer cocktails available.

Registration is required. You may bring guests with no guest fees, but they must be registered so we know how much food to purchase.

See you there!

This week's featured library bottle is the Glenfiddich Experimental Series IPA Cask Whisky.

According to Glenfiddich, "Brewed in bespoke craft IPA barrels, this expression is imbued with unique zesty citrus notes of ripe green apple, William’s pear and spring blossom. Complemented by the subtle tang of fresh hops followed by a long lasting sweetness. This malt is proof that remarkable feats can be achieved when great people get together."

Tasting Notes from the distillery:
👃 An elegant harmony of fresh green apple, William’s pear and spring blossom. Complemented with aromatic hops and fresh herbs.
😛 Vibrant with a zesty citrus note followed by creamy vanilla and a hint of fresh hops.
🏁 Enduring sweetness with an echo of green hops.

This week's featured library bottle is the Shackleton Blended Malt Scotch.

According to Whisky of the Week, "Using the flavor profile of Shackleton’s favorite whisky, Richard Patterson created a blended malt whisky comprising various Highland and Speyside single malts. It was launched as the Shackleton blended malt whisky."

Tasting Notes from Whisky of the Week:
👃 Sweetness balanced with notes of fruit, spices, smoke, and menthol. Faint peat in the background. The nose reminds me a bit of the Dalmore 15 yo.
😛 Rich and bold. Honey sweetness, malt, orchard fruit with warming cinnamon and vanilla balanced with dry oak and aniseed. Adding water makes the sweetness more rounded and complex. Easy drinking and smooth.
🏁 Long and lingering with notes of sweetness and orange blossom.
