Sometimes life just gives you people. Joe Jenness and his family run Jenness Farms in Cass City, MI where he has turned his hobby of making apple cider vinegar and maple products into quite a business. Joe's products, particularly his vinegar, are definitely top shelf and crafted with care in the old way. Those who know, know that the key to healthy ACV is the live culture or "mother" in the vinegar and Joe's definitely has it, but what really differentiates this product is the fact that is undiluted (every store brand is) and it is really, really delicious.
Joe happens to have the booth directly next to ours at the Ortonville market, so we have gotten to know him, his wife and his top salesperson (their young granddaughter) over the last couple years, and I can tell you he and his family are also top shelf. Our CSA members, who are always looking for healthy and delicious food products, have expressed an interest in this craft made vinegar, so we will be helping Joe sell some by bringing it to our farm in Fenton.
