I'll just leave this here, food for thought.
Imagine you moved into a big beautiful house with a big beautiful yard. You have a large family, because you always wanted a large family. It may be noisy and chaotic but it's YOURS. And the law says you can live there.
Now imagine your new neighbor HATES kids. Hates the sound of them, hates the look of them, hates everything about them. They immediately start complaining about your kids. They say you are a "bad neighbor" for moving into a house where the previous owner "didn't have any children". They get flip out at the occasional ball that ends up in their yard. They scream at your kids when they are playing in the backyard. They falsely report you for neglect and abuse. They call the authorities on every little thing they can.
Then one day they find a sympathetic ear in the bureaucracy.
Another like minded individual who thinks that having so many kids is just rude, inconsiderate. But it isn't itself illegal. He decides that since your kids occasionally have a lemonade stand or sell cookies to support their girl scout club, that you are conducting a "business" and he files zoning violations against your property. All the authorities who your neighbor reported you to have to come "inspect" your property and (of course) they find all sorts of things to nit pick and file on on your property. Things that have been that way or "unpermitted" objects or structures which have been there for 30 years. Doesn't matter.
This is our life.
The law says we can have animals. The law says we have to make a "reasonable attempt" to respect our neighbors. WE DO. But certain neighbors hate animals. They demand silence and utter unawareness of their presence. It just isn't possible. Just like with a big (legal) family of kids. The one who hates everything about them should not be appointed judge over what is "reasonable" to see/smell/hear of them.
Share THAT with the county agencies, "neighbor". I dare you.
