Short notice, this will be the only day I am open this week. I will be open today April 9th 1-4 for sales. Today will be one of the last days to purchase bulk syrup by the pound if you bring your own container. Any questions or to set up another time call Jeni at 563-605-1168.

Today was our final pancake breakfast of the year. The weather was chilly and we served 725 people. Today I was talking with a family that had recreated a picture that was taken many years ago. We have been doing the pancakes for 35 years, the kids that came the first few years are now bringing their parents back along their own children. This picture was taken 25 years ago, oh how things have changed. One of the little kids in this picture has a kid of his own. Our family's tradition has become yours and we love that. Thanks again to all the family members and friends that make it all happen, we could never it do without you, see you all again next year!

I will be open for syrup sales today and tomorrow(April 2,3) from 1-4. I am making sugar both days. Our last Pancake day is on Saturday April 4th serving 10-2. Bring your own container to buy in bulk by the pound or purchase syrup in our containers. Any questions or to set up a different time to come contact Jeni at 563-605-1168.

This picture is of our old gathering sled. If you look on the wall in the evaporator building there are sticks hanging. They are the record of all the barrels of sap that has been collected since the 1950's.

Yesterday was the perfect day, We are doing all again this Saturday April 4th. The weather sounds a little suspect, but we will be here rain or shine!

A little syrup, a lot of sap! Eating pancakes in the woods is a tradition for hundreds this time of year in northeast Iowa. They’ve served them up just like this for 35 years, but they’ve been making syrup from the maple trees in much the same way for 175 years! That was ten years before the Civil War started!

The line at 2:45. There is no way we could do this without the help of family and very dedicated friends. Thank you to the 1330 people that came to have pancakes on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We will do it all again next Saturday.

We will be open today and tomorrow (March 27-28) from1-4 for syrup sales and tours. I will be making sugar all day today. Come on out and get your syrup, drive right up to the door, then come back on Sunday for pancakes. Cash or Check, questions contact Jeni at 563-605-1168. A note on this picture, it is from the 1950's. The background is where the pond is now. Looked a little different back then. I also would not have wanted to gather with steel 5 gallon pails.
