After much anticipation (and maybe a little suspense), we are officially announcing our Frozen Yogurt Winner! 🏆🍦

🎉 Congratulations to Sahana B at North Star Academy!! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who participated, voted, and patiently waited for the announcement. Because the selection fell right at the end of the year, we chose to delay the notification until this school year so we could better coordinate the ice cream party. Also, Sahana was in 3rd Grade last year, and we will be extending the ice cream party to the entire 4th grade instead of just her class!

🐾 Happy National Dog Day from the REAL Top Dogs of DCSD Nutrition Services! 🐾

Our Central Office pups decided they were tired of sitting on the sidelines and officially joined the Lunch Lady Crew. 😂👩‍🍳

They’re ready to serve up healthy meals, plenty of fruits and veggies, and maybe a few extra treats under the table. 🥕🍎🐶

Today we’re celebrating the four-legged coworkers who keep us smiling, supervise all snack breaks, and are convinced that every meal should include a taste test. ❤️

Disclaimer: No dogs were actually allowed in the kitchen or trusted with lunch service. Their food safety certifications are questionable at best.

🌟 July Employee Spotlight & Happy Retirement, Greg! 🌟

This month, we're honored to recognize Greg as our July Employee Spotlight—a fitting way to celebrate someone who has made such a lasting impact on DCSD Nutrition Services as he begins his retirement.

Known for his calm presence (even in "Crisis Mode"), endless kindness, unwavering support, and a fresh cup of Folgers coffee never too far away, Greg has been a steady leader, trusted mentor, and true friend to so many.

Whether he was solving problems, offering encouragement, sharing a laugh, or making everyone feel welcome, Greg led with compassion, humility, and heart. His legacy isn't just measured by the work he accomplished—it's reflected in the countless people he inspired along the way.

As Greg enters Retirement Mode, we want to thank him for his years of dedication, leadership, and friendship. Congratulations on being our July Employee Spotlight and, most importantly, congratulations on a well-earned retirement!
