Been a busy week here on the farm with four sows farrowing resulting in 49 new piglets. One more sow to go but she’s not due for a week or two….

So until then, time to get some rest.

200 years ago, a group of farmers gathered in Schodack to form the greatest group known to mankind.

Today, we met to renew their goal towards the prevention of horse and general livestock thievery through Schodack, Kinderhook, Stuyvesant, and Chatham.

Afterwords, I might have enjoyed a quick nip at Arrow Hill Farm with a fellow dedicated member.

All in all, another successful year for the Society for the Detection of Horse Thieves.

We are sorry to announce that the chickens have not increased production and we will not be selling eggs for a while. ( We are sad too as we had to buy eggs).

This also means as much as we appreciate you all still dropping off cartons, we do not have the space to store them and do not want Cinderella’s friends choosing to make a house out of them.

We will let you know when we start collecting cartons again.

The ladies didn’t like the weather change. Then got jealous of everyone’s costumes for Halloween, and decided to change theirs too. Now all their energy is being directed into growing new feathers instead of producing delicious eggs for everyone.

We have taken the egg sign down.

When there is eggs again we will put it up.

I promise we’ve been putting eggs out for sale, but it seems as soon as we do, they’re sold out again.

With the change in the season we’ve seen our girls dip in production a bit, so we apologize if you’ve stopped to get eggs and there weren’t any. We’re working on trying to get them out as soon as we collect but some days there’s just not enough to last more than a couple hours it seems.

If you absolutely must have our farm fresh eggs, send us a message and we’ll work to set some aside for you.

We could use your help again.

If you have empty 18-count cartons, please drop them off or contact us and we’ll arrange pickup. We’re doing ok on dozen count cartons but we’ll take those as well.

And hey, if your dropping some off anyways, the fridge is freshly restocked. We appreciate everyone’s understanding the past few weeks as we were dealing with well issues that made cleaning eggs and getting them out for sale challenging to say the least. That seems to be behind us now and we should have eggs whenever you’re in need.

Oh and if you need some bacon to go with those eggs, get in touch with us. We have some spots still available for our whole of half pig orders this winter.
