One year ago this month, Panda Hill opened in Castroville. But the story starts a lot earlier.

Back in Manila, Joyce ran a little street food cart in high school. Chinese noodles, stir-fried fresh right in front of whoever walked up. That's where she learned the thing that still runs this kitchen: feeding people makes her happy.

The cart was the beginning. Castroville is where it grew up.
