Hey folks, as we approach Thanksgiving where we cattle farmers or even beef consumers might get to hear some differing opinions about cattle and the contribution of methane to the atmosphere; come to the table informed. Industrialized farming is owed some criticism. But small scale cattle farms are run the way nature intended and contribute to something called the Biogenic Carbon Cycle. The methane released from cows ends up back in the soil to feed the plants for the next generation of cows in something as little as 12 years. There is also plenty of research to support that cattle significantly increase soil health, soil being one of the largest carbon sinks on the planet!
