Meet Dr Fine! We have so much to share about her. She is our kind of vet. She wants to save every patient just like we do!
It’s a new day in vetmed.

"Schooling horses is just walk, trot, canter, maybe taking them over a few jumps, anyone can do it."

That mentality is the start of the spiral downward for the horse. Can "anybody" notice and retrain the following:

- Does the horse cooperate/want to put the bridle on? If not, can they perform exercises/stretches to release the tension stopping the horse?
- Does the horse stand calmly at the mounting block, waiting for a walk on once the rider is settled and gives a clear cue?
- Does the horse respond to transitions within the gait?
- Does the horse show correct bend and straightness both laterally and longitudinally?
- Does the horse soften to the aids (or brace against)?
- Does the horse lift into transitions (or "fall" into them)?
- Does the horse stay in gait until asked for a change?
- Does the horse show "behaviors" that are really a cry for support physically or mentally?
- Does the horse show clarity in his response to the aids (or do you need to escalate the aids)? ***this is a big one that often ends with the kicking/pulling cycle prevalent in our industry

School horses deserve to be schooled by a knowledgeable party and the safety of students demands it.

Now the next important question. How do you use the communication your horse gives during schooling sessions to improve their wellbeing?

Add your "schooling questions" in the comments!

πŸ• The Pizza Boy is Looking for the Next General Manager πŸ•
The Pizza Boy isn't looking for someone to simply run a shift. He's looking for someone ready to lead a team, build a culture, and become the captain of this slightly chaotic but highly delicious pizza ship.
We're searching for an individual who believes in teamwork, values community, and isn't afraid of hard work. Someone who understands that leadership isn't about standing around holding a clipboard looking important, it's about jumping in when the rush hits and helping your team succeed.
Now, before you talk yourself out of applying...
You do NOT have to know everything. Honestly, if you know everything, The Pizza Boy has questions. What matters is having the willingness to learn, accept coaching, take direction, and continuously improve. We can teach systems. We can teach inventory. We can teach scheduling. We cannot teach someone to care.
The Pizza Boy loves ambition, but let's clear up a few things:
πŸ• "I want all the hours" does NOT mean leaving early every day.
πŸ• "Open availability" does NOT mean requesting off 5 out of 7 days every week.
πŸ• "Team player" does NOT mean watching your coworkers drown while you perfect the art of leaning on the prep table.
As General Manager, you'll be responsible for (but definitely not limited to):
πŸ• Leading and developing your team
πŸ• Working 45–50 hours per week
πŸ• Scheduling and staffing
πŸ• Managing food inventory
πŸ• Controlling labor and food costs
πŸ• Maintaining product quality
πŸ• Delivering exceptional customer service
πŸ• Engaging with and supporting the community
πŸ• Solving problems before they become bigger problems
πŸ• Occasionally answering questions you never imagined another human being would ask
We're looking for someone who understands that great pizza doesn't happen by accident, and neither does great leadership. Someone who leads by example, stays calm under pressure, and understands that sometimes the most important part of the job is simply showing up and being dependable.
Compensation will be based on experience, leadership ability, and your willingness to help build something bigger than yourself.
If you're ready to lead from the front, invest in your team, and help make this the best pizza experience in town, The Pizza Boy wants to hear from you.
Bonus points if you can survive a Friday night rush without questioning every life decision that brought you here.
