Starting this month, I’m going to be posting on a separate Instagram account, TikTok account, and page devoted solely to commentary on the food we eat and grow. This will include commentary on:
- National and state agriculture policy
- The value of locally produced food
- Critique of our industrial food system
- The social and cultural forces that define what we eat
- Updates on current advocacy and campaigns to bring us healthy and abundant food

Swine Herder Sought

Cayuta Sun Farm is a woodland farm raising old breed hogs for gourmet pork sold to the local market.

We need a reliable, part-time person to tend to the pigs on some or all weekdays, preferably mornings, for two to three hours of labor each shift. The main focus of work is food, water and fencing tasks. Previous livestock experience is helpful but not required. Ability to lift 50 pounds, willingness to solve problems, and a desire to compassionately observe and tend to animals is required. The sows and piglets count on you so reliable vehicle is a must. Piglet cuddling is optional.

$16 per hour plus pork
