The garden really has been something this year! Guess shoveling all that p**p into piles and letting it sit was good for something. 😂 I’m going to let the pigs turn the whole garden over this fall and put them to work too!

I’ve been battling squash vine borers, but the plants already have so much squash that’s almost ready to harvest that I’m not giving up on them. I’ve been hand-picking the borers, cutting them out, and packing compost around the splits I made. The vines are re-rooting like crazy, so I’m pretty confident they’re going to make it.

And pictured is the cow who tried her very best to eat ALL of my sunflowers this spring. 😂 I guess it’s a good thing she got a few of them, because apparently I would’ve been overrun

bad air quality day! everyone is all set up! charlie is a nuisance! Seriously though be careful out there. Just over an hour this morning and i could definitely feel it!

Pretty clear sign i was petting a pig or at least in with them. snout prints for the win! I never thought I would love a pig as much as i love Mongo and Olivia(Livie) Becky is fine. She feels the same about me she’ll sit for treats but she’s not in love with me like the other two.

Kevin’s Goat (yes, that’s her actual name) is the only horned goat here. We generally avoid horns for “I’m stuck and about to turn into a vet bill” reasons.

She came to us after an unfortunate—but thankfully not tragic—incident at our neighbor Kevin’s house. Hence the name.

Every now and then she gets her horns stuck in the hay feeder. The good news: she’s smart and never panics. She just waits for rescue.

This time, though, I checked the camera footage and realized she’d been stuck for way longer than I was comfortable with. She also managed to trap Jasper in the process by wedging her horns just right. Kevin’s Goat was completely unbothered. Jasper looked appropriately offended.

The feeder was specifically designed to reduce hay waste and prevent goats from getting stuck. So naturally, I had to cut them out and create some new “I have horns” head holes.

Place your bets: how long before Kevin’s Goat ignores the new holes, finds a different spot, and gets stuck again? Because… goats.
