Local Flowers and Sustainable Farming - two of Renzinnia's objectives as a local flower farmer. Summer brings us to fields of zinnias, one of our favorite flowers. Find them at the Historic Manassas Farmers Market on Saturday and the Haymarket Farmers Market on Sunday. Or join our CSA subscription service and get five weeks of flowers delivered to your door.

Dahlias are fascinating flowers. There are tens of thousands of different cultivars with descriptive names like pompom, anemone, ball, collarette, and many others. The flowers range in size from 2 inches to 12 inches (called dinner plate dahlias) and can grow from 2 ft to 6 ft in height. They are native to Mexico and have been the national flower there since 1963. Plants grow from tubers, which multiply underground during the dahlia season. Those tubers were once considered food in Asia and European countries.
At Renzinnia Flowers, we have a wide variety of dahlias. They start to flower mid-summer and continue until the first hard frost. They are a favorite of many of our CSA customers.
If you would like to learn more about dahlias and make a bouquet from our dahlia bar, see our Dahlia and Dinner Event at www.renzinnia.com/shop or sign up for CSA season 5. Five weeks of flowers delivered to your door.
