Today marks 25 years of Ox Cart Dairy!

25 years ago, Kristin & Slade left their "good, stable jobs" with two-year-old Abbie in tow, and started our farm.

Starting a first generation dairy farm comes with its ups and downs, but with the help of our friends, family, and community we continue to chase our dream.

Today we’re taking a moment to reflect on where it all started, appreciate how far we’ve come, and look ahead to the next 25 years. 🐄

This just in: The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act. Thank you to everyone who joined — your voices mattered.

With today’s passage of this bipartisan bill, schools now have the option to serve whole and reduced-fat (2%) milk again. The bill now heads to the President’s desk to be signed into law.

This is an important step toward providing families and students with more nutritious, wholesome choices during critical meal times.

We thank Representatives Congressman Glenn Thompson (R-Pa.) and Congresswoman Kim Schrier (D-Wash.), more than 115 bipartisan co-sponsors, and Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kan.) and Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) for their leadership in advancing legislation to restore whole milk options in school cafeterias.

This is just another great example of the power we hold when we all work together!

Our baskets are overflowing!!

The chaos garden has been recently mowed, so there are large paths for traversing through the veggies! We have tomatoes (seriously, some beautiful tomatoes!), kale, chard, cabbage, basil, eggplant, and more!

Free to all - please park in the corn of the field at the corner of Farnam road and Ira hill, and bring a basket to fill!

“What are Abbie and Gabe doing in the corn field with shovels, a water truck and a bunch of seedlings?”

The answer: planting the first every Wyllie Fox Farm X OxCart Dairy Community Chaos Garden

Taking a nod from our friends at Koepke Farms, we thought that planting a garden that was open to the community would be a great way to give back, and provide some free, fresh produce along the way!

Our friends at Wyllie Fox Farm generously donated a BUNCH of seedlings, including heirloom tomatoes (cherry, grape, slicers, you name it!), eggplants, lettuce, kale, chard, cabbage, kohlrabi, and more! The tomatoes and lettuce are ready now, so stop by and fill your baskets.

Rules of engagement:
- Please park on the corner of the field on Farnam Rd and follow the path down to the garden. Do not drive through the field.
- The garden area is marked on the map in blue. Please walk only in the garden area
- Wash what you eat: there are a number of animals who are also enjoying the garden this year (the bunnies really liked the lettuce) so wash your veggies before you eat them

These 3 girls were also abandoned in our town and are ready for new homes. They are small maybe beagle/chihuahuas. They are friendly and have had rabies and distemper shots. Message me to learn more and wow we really wish people would stop abandoning their pets.
