mission shiitake successful! i have drilled and plugged soooooo many holes, it is ridicoulous!...and there's a huge stump that now contains about 3 pounds worth of oyster spawn as welll....now we get to wait a year and see what happens.

green logs...check! bulk spawn for shiitakes and oysters...check! nice rainy days to work on such...check! woohoo here we go! :-)

k,... have 2 gallon bottles with lovingly tended oyster mushroom mycelium, have money for plug spawn...don't have fresh cut/green hardwood logs....anybody know of a freshly fallen over tree or large branch prunings?

this is a project page for the Faestation's newest sustainable idea. This project would not only grow food for sale and community consumption, but also improve local soil by the various fungi's tendency to eat their growing media and turn it into rich myceliated compost, AND over the long run, this ALSO would be a valuable asset to bioremediation of the land
