Our first time raising turkeys has been... interesting to say the least. Out here in Cedar Grove, we've raised thousands of chickens. So, how different could turkeys be? The answer is very different.

Turkeys have a hell of a lot more personality and urge to explore the world. We learned that lesson about 5 minutes after letting them out on to open pasture. If there's an open gate or a hole in a fence, a turkey will find it and promptly make its escape.

Now that we've learned to wrangle these critters (barring the occasional group of escapees) our turkeys have been happily growing in their pasture. Foraging all day long and exploring their space. It's been a learning experience, but one we hope will be well worth it come Thanksgiving season!

Hot afternoons and early bedtimes really only make for one time to get work done out here in Cedar Grove. As you can see, that does come with some advantages.

We're up and at 'em every morning to make sure you're getting the best pasture-raised meats around. Place your order this week to get it delivered straight to your home or one of our pickup locations.
