We had a successful weekend getting things done on the farm before today’s much needed rain. 😊

THANK YOU. 💕
Before ➡️ After of the farmers market this past Saturday. Y’all showed up and we are so grateful for your support. Bringing fresh, beautiful flowers to our local market brings me so much joy, and I am so happy that these gorgeous blooms found a place in your homes this week. Your support at the market truly makes an impact on our small business. Our goal is to continue to put in the work to provide the freshest flowers possible to our community. 💕

One of our 2023 goals is to plant a half-acre prairie on the hill where the farm’s old barn used to be. At the top of the hill will be an island-style disc golf hole. The barn foundation was buried and planted with grass by a previous owner, and now we want to make it our own.
We’ve been prepping the area for 2 years, and one of the last steps was moving the bees to a new location so we could spray. The plan is to frost seed the prairie area in late winter as the soil goes through freeze-thaw cycles.
Everything we do on the farm is an experiment and we’re always troubleshooting. I expect the prairie establishment process to be no different, but I cannot wait to look out my window and see a beautiful Wisconsin prairie someday. 💕

Good morning! Our markets may be over for the year, but we’re still working hard on the farm to get ready for winter. Between adding 25 yards of compost to next year’s annual field, planting 50 peony roots and other spring bulbs, field cleanup, ordering seeds and plugs, digging dahlia tubers, and finishing up a few wreaths for you lovely people, I am staying busy doing what I love.
Here’s a picture of one of the last arrangements I made for my home this year. I miss the fresh flowers so much already, but I’m still somehow harvesting strawflower and yarrow in November. Doesn’t seem right…
Anyway, I’m going to try to keep you all updated on what we do here in the winter. One of our upcoming tasks is beehive winterization and honey extraction. 💕 Happy Wednesday all!

We’re bringing lots of strawflower to the fall festival on Saturday from 9-4. We’d love to see you there! 🍁
