This is why I try to do it all 🙌🏼

Our kids watch and listen to everything we say and do. My junior has an empathetic heart. Every new comer, every baby is greeted by J with kindness and a welcoming heart. She reminds everyone how loved and wanted they are. She sings to baby ducks to calm them down. She calmly reassure each crying baby goat how loved they are. She feed animal crackers to goats after their meds. She checks on the dino nuggets to make sure they are growing strong.

Everything I do is to teach and guide them to be a good human in a harsh world. I’m so proud of her.

I paused briefly before posting this but what the heck! My people know my true authentic self, my odd humor, and lack of concern.

I did a first for me. I had to get fecals of several in the herd so we could see where to go from here. I didn’t know what I was doing. I just did it and my best. I’m winging it a lot of times over here.

It’s the end of the season. I’m tired of birds in our shop. These babies around about 4 weeks old. Some are obvious cockerels others are questionable. They are UFD as a straight run, BYM chicks since they are not DNA tested.

Obvious Cockerels are free.99. Grow them out for the soup pot or use them as flock protectors. Take one, take all but one because I still need a rooster too.

Questionable pullets (aka straight run chicks) are cheep, cheep. PM for price.

All are off heat, eating well, thriving. My few keepers are outside already. They could be Swedish flowers or seafoam eggers. A nice little mystery sale grab bag. Come pick out what ya want- take a gander at visually comb sexing chicks 😆 if I can tell gender and breed from my experience, I’ll be straight with ya.

I knew I saved these for a reason!

We’re back to the “good ole days” of bagging milk at night. I’m not quite as meticulous on ounces or milliliters. This is the end of the season for me. 😅
I’m done milking till next kidding season. This batch will be frozen for soap making or a future rejected baby- let’s hope for the first because we had really great mamas this year!
