We heard it’s National Farmers Day! We’re thankful to be farmers and know so many other great farmers!

Here’s some early mornings, late nights, and early mornings that turned into late nights at Big Moon. We’re grateful to have the helping hands that we do, some of these people come from their own farms back in Kansas to help us. Thank goodness our busy season is during their slow season!

Here’s to the farmers that raised us and to the ones we will raise 🌾🦪

We were so busy farming on National Ag day that we missed it! But as always, we are incredibly grateful to have been raised in agriculture and to have the opportunity to continue the legacy through aquaculture!

Brother and sister, Gretchen and Ian Stone, harvest clams in Cedar Key, Florida. Located in Florida’s Big Bend, Cedar Key’s aquaculture community produces 90 million clams each year. The health of the industry is dependent on the fine balance of salinity in the estuary, where freshwater from the Suwannee River meets the Gulf of Mexico.

Protecting the Florida Wildlife Corridor, a statewide network of public preserves and private working lands, provides an opportunity to balance Florida’s rapid growth with the green infrastructure that supports all Floridians. The water quality in the Gulf of Mexico around Cedar Key depends on the health of the estuaries from the Suwannee River. Protecting the wild lands in the headwaters of the Suwannee is vital to the fisheries and ecosystems downstream.
