I was scrolling through my album and realized I forgot to post this pic from . Such a great tray for lunch. Those potatoes are heavenly and the sliced brisket sandwich exploded with flavor.

HEB True Texas BBQ is like eating bbq in an airport, not in Texas. Meat was cold. Beans tasted like they were out of a can and had been cooked to try and hide the can flavor. Macaroni was OK. Turkey was dry and sweet, not in a good way. Typically in a true Texas BBQ joint the staff would be very friendly and talkative, not here. Atmosphere resembles something another state would build in an airport and call it True Texas BBQ. HEB is a staple in Texas and should really have a deep understanding of what a true Texas BBQ restaurant should be like. They completely missed on the venue. Having a meat cutter slice my brisket in front of me when I order it is 101 Texas BBQ. They missed it from the start. I doubt HEB will have a 5:00am line, so having a cutter would not hold up a line. Brisket flavor was good and the sausage was average.

Recent trip to Franklin BBQ. My 110th time to do the line. Y'all know I love this place. The line is a ton of fun, the food is great and the staff are amazing!

Sliced brisket sandwich topped with burnt ends, jalapeno cheddar sausage, pork ribs and slaw.

Pro tip #246, get the slaw. It cuts the richness of the meat.

Throwback to my 2nd or 3rd trip to Franklin BBQ on this day, December 17, 2010. I had no idea I would later become friends with and visit over 100 times over the next 14 years.

So many great memories.

Aaron & Stacy and the whole staff over the years have made such a welcoming environment. I love this place.

Hey & why don't y'all come tailgate with us for the Georgia vs Texas game? We have the best wings in Austin and our Peach Tea Boubon Lemonade will have you feeling great! We have 3000 Sq Ft of canopy shade and a great crowd. Even Aaron Franklin likes our tailgate.
