Check this out! We added the honey last weekend and the heightened fermentation started almost immediately. 😃
Taking a gravity reading this weekend. The taste is quite interesting, my official taster (wife) described it as “malty/grains upfront followed by floral notes. No sweetness or bitterness experienced.” 😋
The color leans towards amber and reminded us of an amber tree we received a while back from Lithuania (it’s a symbol of good luck or protection).
It’s made from fossilized tree resin formed millions of years ago. Abundant along the Baltic coast, Lithuania is known for an abundance of Baltic Amber.
This is perfect because the honey is from Lithuania and the base beer is a Märzen - Introducing, Munich Meets Vilnius! 😁
In the fermenter for another week, then I’ll transfer to the Brite tank for lagering. 🤓
