It is with heavy heart that we must announce we are closing. Medical/family issues are forcing the sale of the family farm, and we no longer have a home for our birds. Sarah and Joe would like to thank all our customers and supporters over these past two years as we worked to provide locally grown healthy food for you and your families.
We will keep this page, with the hopes that we are someday able to find a new location to restart operations. There is no timetable for this at the present, but if you know of a small acreage available in the area, please feel free to let us know.
Again, thank you for all your support of us and good, healthy, sustainable local agriculture!

Cuckoo Marans are also known as "chocolate eggers" as the eggs they lay are a deep brown, almost chocolate color. They're a dual purpose bird, laying around 150 eggs per year and also prized for their meat qualities.

First of our Cuckoo Maran chicks hatched this morning...more "chocolate" eggs will be added to the mix in a few months!

Easter's Coming...Of course you needs eggs! In addition to our usual farm fresh eggs, we have a few dozen eggs that are 2 weeks old - perfect for hard cooking (eggs around 2 weeks old are much easier to peel). We'll be in town today, so save yourself a trip!

The dyeing isn't necessarily cruel...but remember, these cute little critters live for several years (and, as with kids, the *cute* can wear off) so please don't give them as gifts unless the recipient is prepared to raise and care for them.
If you really must show your kids baby chicks, bring 'em out to the farm...we're hatching every 3-4 weeks.

Did you know: When making hard cooked eggs (like for Easter Eggs), very fresh eggs are quite difficult to peel. As eggs age, the shells will peel more easily. We recommend that eggs you'll be hard cooking should be at least 2 weeks old for easiest peeling.
Do you need eggs for Easter? We have several dozen we've set aside for 2 weeks to make your job easier...give us a call or drop us a message to get yours!
