Hi Ghostly Grove friends! We know you all were bummed that we wouldn’t be doing bees this year pending some big decisions. That doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy thinking about what types of things we want to deliver as a business. That said we are happy to advise that we will be delivering other types of goodies to buy in addition to the products we have previously offered that doesn’t include honey 🍯. First up is SUCCULENTS! Our plants did amazing over the summer and we want to share that success with all of you! As soon as these ladies root and show signs of a successful transplant they will be available for sale. 🥰

We have made the difficult decision to pause our Ghostly Grove Honey production for this year. The hives that we had at the close of last season didn’t make it through the drastic temperature changes in early spring. Our regular 9-5s may be moving out of state. We will know more in the coming months. We thought it would be a disservice to the bees if we replaced and then had to leave them for someone else to keep. We will still have our wax based products however this year there will be no honey. Please keep checking back for updates Thank you everyone who’s stayed with us on this journey so far. We are looking forward to resuming our regular videos and keeping as soon as we can.

Springtime PSA: PLEASE MESSAGE ME. If you come across a cluster of bees like this YOU NEED A BEEKEEPER NOT AN EXTERMINATOR. These girls are homeless and looking for a new place to live. PLEASE do not use bug spray, water hose, or flamethrower ANYTHING. Please contact a beekeeper, county extension office, local police non emergency or similar organization in your area. Bees like this are rarely hostile UNLESS PROVOKED. They have no hive to defend. Please do not mess with them; leave that to those with beekeeping experience. MESSAGE GGH we will see what we can do. Actually not going to do the hive inspection today. Can’t set up the hives without equipment. They are all ok and in the hives just on the ground. We will have to come back when we can get to our gear. Tazia Gilbert-Heyl

Tazia Gilbert-Heyl it’s swarming season! We set out our swarm catcher earlier today. Our friend sent us a video of a swarm in a family members tree today as well. These girls are most likely on their way to a bigger house. Swarming is how wild bees naturally grow. If you see bees like this PLEASE DON’T SPRAY THEM. They are just taking a break on their way to a new home. If you need them gone message us here and if we are able we will come and relocate them for you.
