After many years of searching, waiting, and learning through urban farming, they purchased land in Cedarburg, WI. Hey everyone!! I can't believe it's already the last week of summer-market season, but here we are! (We'll be back to lots of winter markets, don't worry!!)

Come say 'hi' and fill all your chicken, turkey, duck, and lamb needs!! (ps - it's great weather for a curried stew!! We don't have goat right now, but this would also be great with lamb!)(Ask your marketeer for this or other recipes!)

Usually our winter quarters (pictured left) are reserved for the winter, and the summer pasture (pictured right) is used from the moment it is ready some time in May until it can't support critters anymore sometime in the fall. This allows us to move the animals around more which is not only better for the land (as you can see, overgrazing is damaging to plant life), but also helps control parasites without requiring regular medication.

But after all the rain we had a few weekends ago, we had quite a bit of standing water. This is to be expected given that A) it rained 7in+, and B) our water table is at only 6in! We learned this while digging holes for fences last summer.

So, rather than having all the sheep and goats grazing in standing water (not good for them or for the plants, they visited their winter quarters for a few days before heading out to better pastures again.

Hey all!!
We are beyond excited to be joining you at 3 farmers markets tomorrow, Aug 16, throughout southeastern WI!! Hopefully the weather will be nice to us.

We have lots of pasture-based chicken options (fresh from the butcher this week) & still have some goat available, too!
