It is with heavy hearts we have to let the community know that we are closing the doors of Nieman Orchards and will not be open this upcoming season. As many of you know our father and owner, Bob Nieman, unexpectedly passed away in February. Nieman Orchards, established in 1852, has been in our family for nine generations. Closing the business was not an easy decision and was not the decision we wanted to make, but unfortunately with the recent and sudden loss of both our parents in the past year, we are unable to manage the orchard. We have enjoyed hearing and reading the countless stories of times spent at โThe Old Red Barnโ and want to encourage you to continue to share these stories with us and others. Anyone who knew our dad knew how much he loved the orchard and sharing his extensive knowledge of apple varieties with each and every one of you. He adored seeing returning and new customers every fall and treated his customers and employees like family. We would like to thank everyone for all your support and love over the many, many years. We have been so fortunate to have served such a wonderful community. And remember to follow the advice from our dad and grandparents, โAlways keep your apples in the fridge. They will last longer.โ
With love,
The Nieman Family ๐
