🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Tomorrow we celebrate 250 years of freedom, faith, and the enduring spirit of America. ❤️🤍💙

As we honor the courage of those who fought for liberty in 1776, may we never take for granted the blessings we enjoy today. I’m proud to celebrate this historic milestone dressed in colonial-inspired attire as a tribute to the brave men and women whose sacrifices helped shape our nation.

May God continue to bless our families, our communities, and the United States of America. Let us remember that freedom is a precious gift worth protecting and passing on to future generations.

Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸✨

Chocolate Cobbler

Rich, fudgy, and topped with a crackly chocolate crust, this old-fashioned Southern dessert creates its own warm chocolate sauce as it bakes. It’s even better served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Ingredients

Cobbler Batter

• ½ cup butter
• 1½ cups granulated sugar
• 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
• 2 cups self-rising flour
• 1 cup whole milk
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Chocolate Topping

• 2 cups granulated sugar
• ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 3 cups boiling water

For Serving (Optional)

• Vanilla ice cream

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven. Remove the dish once the butter has melted.
3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, self-rising flour, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
4. Carefully spoon the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir.
5. In a separate bowl, combine the 2 cups of sugar and ½ cup cocoa powder. Evenly sprinkle this mixture over the batter.
6. Slowly pour the boiling water over the top. Do not stir.
7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is set. The cobbler will still have a rich, gooey chocolate sauce underneath.
8. Let the cobbler cool for 15–20 minutes before serving.
9. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Makes: 10–12 servings

Some days call for Granny’s kind of strength.
The quiet kind that shows up, keeps working, keeps loving,
and never feels the need to announce itself.

May we carry that steadiness with us today—
in our homes, our hands, and our hearts. 🤎
