It’s always a little odd to me when people criticize farmers for being kind to animals they may later eat, but never think twice about grabbing a steak from the grocery store.

We've just become so disconnected with where our food comes from. Caring for livestock, giving them a good life, and respecting them isn’t cruel, it’s exactly how it should be.

The cow in my pasture and the steak in the store are the same thing. The difference is that I have to look that animal in the eye, care for it every day, and understand what it took to put food on the table.

I truly believe the vast majority of society has lost touch with the reality of where it comes from.
