I read that Wendell Berry passed away. His book, The Unsettling of America, is one of my most treasured, and for sure one of the inspirations for my meandering into farming. My favorite poems are too long to post, but this one is one that Nick Offerman (one of Berrys current champions) often shares. It is poignant and timely and also timeless. Berry was a prolific writer, essayist and poet AND farmer and activist for the American family farm and nature. He was a national treasure. He leaves an incredible legacy. If you haven’t read his works, you’re missing out.
