Due to recent storms, The Country Cooler is no more. It was fun while it lasted and one day I'll rebuild her, but who knows when! I ALWAYS have eggs, so if you ever need any, just shoot me a message and I can leave some out for you. We can also make deliveries in Monticello on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Anamosa on Mondays. Our newest (and hopefully last for the season) Mama! "Bunny" hatched 3 Cream Legbar chicks. Cream Legbars lay a light blue egg and are autosexed at hatch, so we already know we have 2 hens and 1 rooster! Mom is an Easter Egger chicken (lays a blue/greenish egg) and this is her first clutch. She's kind of a mean little thing if you stick your hand in her nest box, so I wasn't sure if she'd be a good mama or not, but so far so good!

The chickens have accepted him as their own.... 😆🐥 Hope everyone has fared the Derecho Storm well. We lost one of our ancient pine trees, but feel extremely lucky. For the most part our property was fine. If you need any eggs to get you by during this time, please help yourself to whatever is in the cooler. Free of charge!

Who laid my egg? Lavy the Lavender Orpington is one of the friendliest and fluffiest birds in our flock! She lays a light brown egg and will lay around 220 per year! She also loves being a mama. Infact she just got done raising 3 chicks a couple weeks ago!
