Meet the young ones.

These are pullets that I got as babies in June. They are growing and currently in their own separate coop until they are old enough to start laying eggs. Which they will do at around 16 to 20 weeks of age.

The rooster's favorite hen...

While giving the chickens some treats I noticed the rooster's current favorite hen. How can I tell? She is missing a bunch of her back feathers. I will keep an eye on her but if she continues to be the favorite I may need to get her a chicken saddle (back cover). The chicken saddle works by covering up her back and allowing those feathers to regrow.

Pardon the dogs barking in the background, not sure if they were mine or the neighbors.

Meet Rooster Cogburn, the rooster I didn't know I needed. He came to me in the second batch of chicks I ordered and he was a mistake... I had ordered all pullets (females). But this one lone rooster made it through the checks and honestly, I'm happy about it. Roosters can help protect your flock and he does a pretty good job. I believe he is an Olive Egger breed but don't quote me on it

Come let the chickens out with me!

Every morning I let the chickens out of their main coop into a fenced off area for them to "free range". I also give them a little treat every morning of scratch grains and some occasional meal worms.

The fence offers some protection against predators but still allows the chickens to explore and do what chickens love to do.

The chickens have slowed down so the stand will be closed for now. We will still have some eggs available for delivery or pickup orders. So please message us.
