Lewis Genetics Show Pig Operation Welcome to Lewis Genetics!! Welcome to our farm. We are located just north of Cedar Rapids, IA. You can really get it all at Lewis Genetics.

Lewis Genetics was started in 2005 with a good sow herd, but now in 2011 our sow herd is continuing to improve and our genetics our better then they have ever been. Whether you’re looking for a great 4-H or FFA project, replacement gilts or even boars, we have it all. The farm is always open to visitors so give us a call. We especially love to help youth with their projects. We will follow the pig

from the farm to the show by offering daily care and feeding recommendations, pig health protocols and even showmanship techniques. We are very excited about our 2012 offering. 33 of our 76 litters will be sired by Sweet Tooth. This boar has matured better than my expectations for him, and those were very high. We will farrow 24 of the top end of gilts from a tremendous 2011 crop of pigs. In the past we have normally had 400 pigs to offer for sale in the spring, this spring we should have nearly 650 pigs to pick from! Check out many of our champions nation-wide on our Winners tab.

Not a usual move I would normally make, but with the quality I was seeing coming up in my late winter litters, I never doubted the decision to buy Everyday Hustle this summer. Don’t get me wrong, I love to chase young boar sires , searching for the “the next great one” , but I also know that I have to breed some sows to boars that I know what I am going to get ! Hustle continued to add to his resume through the state fair season. Housed here in Center Point.

Brailey’s persistent passion forces me to keep a couple Durocs around here to play with and she’s probably had an un proportional amount of success on the past for no more red sows than we have , but this time she backed up her showbarn red smack-talking with the big one !!

A BIG day for Kellen DeRue and his family at the Illinois State Fair. I think I’ve had more people ask looking for a littermate boar to this pig as any pig of mine that’s hit a backdrop lately. His videos always looked amazing his whole life, and he finally found his way when it mattered most. Thank you DeRue family and Hunter Langholff for all you did !

As the state fair season gets rolling in the Midwest, extra excited to see this one get it done and hit the backdrop at the North Dakota State fair.
This one was extremely popular at Expo , and did nothing but continue to get it on since then.
Couldn’t be happier for the Bailey Family, as Scott, Joey, Dyllyn ,Braden and Bostyn have been long time , faithful customers that have sent me lots of incredible backdrop pics over the years, but this one takes it up a notch ! Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS !!
