Good Morning Fairy Bear Fans!!!
What’s “poppin’ at Fairy Bear Farm today????
All our Nursery Babies are in a Growth Spurt!!! And we are so excited to see their little green heads poking out of their baby trays!
Looks like the first up-potting for the season goes to our Spicy Black Spanish Radishes this year ( a fan favorite and a sell out veggie every year!) and our Green Dragon Sushi Cumbers and our Detroit Sweet Golden Beets!!! As well our heavily requested Pineapple l, Cherokee Purple and Spoon Tomatoes popped as well as our Moon Flowers, Americana and Mongolian Mammoth Sunflowers, Pink Sunflowers, Morning Glories, and Zinnia buckets!! Our Famous mixed Nasturtiums are almost completely up and our Famous Chocolate Mjnt is thriving!!! It is going to be an exciting planting season here at Fairy Bear so when you see those early veggie plants at the big box stores- remember…. Healthy, heirloom, local and regenerative veggie plants are on their way from your favorite local whimsical Suburban Farm!!!

Spring has SPRUNG at Fairy Bear Farms!!!
Our seed babies are sprouting and going great!! We never force grow under UVA’s lights or use chemical fertilizers so although you may see early veggie plants at Big Box stores like Walmart and Home Depot, planting our all natural, sustainable heirloom vegetables may come later than the Corporate growers but they are vibrant, healthy, local and grown with love on Long Island by Long Islanders!!! As well at Fairy Bear Farms we are committed to heritage and heirloom seeds in veggies you can’t find on corporate shelves!! This year our lineup includes the elusive Black Queen Tomatoes, Indigo Chocolate Cherry tomatoes and Pineapple tomatoes!!! Green Dragon sushi cucumbers, Mongolian Mammoth Sunflowers and grapefruit sized Carbuncle Watermelons!!! So stay tuned for our Farm stand opening in Mid May!!

SPRING is just around the corner and Fairy Bear Farms is already battling the last breath of Old Man Winter to prepare for our 2026 Growing season!!!
For our first 2026 Farm Update-
we are working on repairing storm damage to our big greenhouse and rearrangeing our seed nursery for maximum yields.
Of course we are creating our growing plans to bring you the best Heirloom and Heritage vegetables for your own gardens, choosing with care fun and hard-to-find varieties that you cannot find from corporate growers, we ARE Fairy Bear Farms after all and whimsy is our specialty!!
Some of our choices to bring out this year are of course our FAMOUS Morning Glory Riot pots, and Mixed Nasturtiums as well as our signature Fairy Melon cucumbers and Tokyo Green Dragon Cucumbers. Asian Purple Eggplants , Heritage Blue Hubbard Sqaah, Colonial Mammoth Sunflowers and Sicilian Cucuzzi are back by popular demand and we are adding Heritage Stained Glass Popcorn, moon and stars watermelons, Bitd House Gourds,, Pineapple Tomatoes and Lady Godiva Pumpkins!!! ….and the list keeps growing!! Last year we planted 20,000 seeds and this years goal is 30,000, not to mention our beautiful established 5-7 year old hosta plants and multiple year established Arborvitae’s!!!
