While I am very happy to have Trump as our president, I truly believe he has no idea of what we have to endure as ranchers. We do NOT set the price on cattle, but more accurately, the supply and demand sets the price that we are bid. The above quote by JFK shows he understood this principle, and I would hope our current Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins would educate President Trump on the issue.
Today, I sent a message to the White House, and I would encourage every cattleman in America to do the same. We are not the bad guys as it would seemingly be inferred by Trump's comment about us lowering our prices. I encouraged our president to put American ranchers first, and I sure hope he gets the message.
