I had never even heard of English Black Mottled Orpingtons until I came across them, and I instantly fell in love with their unique coloring. 🖤🤍

These beauties are a small addition to my flock here at Trumblee Acres, but they'll play a big role in the future. As they mature, they'll become part of the hatchlings I'll be offering, and I can't wait to see what they produce.

I'm excited to watch them grow and share their journey with all of you. Has anyone else ever discovered a breed they didn't know existed and immediately knew they had to have it? 🐓💕

🎉 All of the ducklings have officially found new homes!

At this time, I will not be incubating any more eggs unless they are pre-ordered with a deposit. This applies to both ducklings and chicks.

For now, all hatchlings will be barnyard mixes, as my breeding pens will not be ready until next spring. Once they are established, I plan to offer purebred chicks as well as my own hybrid mixes.

The ducks will continue to be barnyard mixes until I decide which breed(s) I'd like to focus on long-term.

Please keep in mind that hatch times vary by species. Expect approximately 28 days for duckling orders and 21 days for chick orders from the time eggs are set in the incubator.

🐣The Miracle of a Chick Hatching 🐣

After about 21 days of growing safely inside its egg, a chick begins its journey into the world. Using a small, temporary structure on its beak called an egg tooth, the chick carefully pecks a tiny hole in the shell, a process known as "pipping." Over several hours, and sometimes up to a day, it continues working its way around the shell until it can push free.

Once hatched, the chick emerges wet, tired, and covered in soft down feathers. After resting and drying off, it becomes fluffy and active, ready to take its first steps and explore its new surroundings. Every hatch is a remarkable reminder of nature's patience, strength, and the beginning of new life. 🌱🐥💛
