Corn maze 5k was a success! Congratulations to all our runners!
Mass confusion was had within the first 1/4 and the field leveled out after that 😂
See you next year folks!

Looking to cheat for the race today??? Study it… it’s right, left, left, left, right, right, straight, backwards, upside down then inverted 🤷‍♂️
Best of luck to our runners today! We might have 100 by the time it starts 👍

Education for the day people!
🤓🍇

Photo 1: A well-managed grape canopy! Enough leaves to keep the vine photosynthesizing, while still opening the canopy enough for sunlight and airflow. Result: 23° Brix (sugar content) — damn near ready for harvest!

Photo 2: Not so much… Every leaf was damn near ripped off. 😳
Grape leaves are essentially the vine’s solar panels. They need those leaves to perform photosynthesis, which produces the sugars the vine uses to ripen the grapes.
When you remove WAY too much of the canopy, you dramatically reduce the vine’s ability to photosynthesize and accumulate sugar.

Result: 18° Brix. Not near ready for harvest and doubt we will get there 🤦‍♂️

So… show your kids these pictures and they’ll understand the importance of photosynthesis. 😂

There’s your science lesson for the day. 🤓🍇

*We hired and outside crew to do our north end Foch as we ran out of time, because you know.. farmers we have all sorts of extra time. So live and learn, more training 😬
