Hellooo & here are Saturday, August 29th's happenings:

I don't know if I can say it's bitter-sweet to say "good-bye" to August. I think it's mostly sweet!

SWEET CORN, STRAWBERRIES, THE BEST CANTALOUPE & WATERMELON in YEARS, and even our tomatoes are unusually sweet...

If you come to Providence Farm today, we ordered A LOT of Gilda's French Pastries. Take extra for Sunday brunch or even to freeze for future treats!

I love feeling light after a dinner, instead of overly stuffed and heavy.

It's easy to do with all these fresh summer-time veggies.

I am including this week's "CSA Farm Box" recipes in the photos if you'd like some inspiration.

Speaking of our CSA. YES, we have room for more families to join. You can have hyper-fresh, safe, certified-organic fruits and veggies grown by local farmers you know. Head to ProvidenceOrganicFarm.com to learn more and sign-up.

If a CSA isn't right at this time... Our abundant harvest is found at our on-farm market (open 8-6, every day but Sunday) and at the Boyne & Traverse City Farm markets, 8-noon on Saturday.

August 29th's Saturday Mexican Pop-Up (at our farm) features two favorites: new one: Chicken Fajita Tacos, and Beef Quesabirria!

While you're here, you can sip on a latte, AND pretty up your home w/ flowers from our u-pick flower garden, or grab a bouquet! It's literal "seed" money for next year's flower garden. :)

We open at 8:00 AM for Breakfast & Burritos! All the rest is served starting at 10:00 AM. (Live music with Steve Brown at 11:30 - 1:30 ish)

There’s an abundant amount of fresh fruits, veggies and much more LOCAL farm-foods at our market!

Thanks for all your support, and have a great last weekend in August!

Hellooo from Andrea!

(yes, we're experienced growers, but the weather plays a part and it's been PERFECT for these crops.)

(I also ordered A LOT of Gilda's French Pastries. Take extra for Sunday brunch or even to freeze for future treats.)

Tonight we had yellow watermelon sprinkled with Tajin seasoning for dessert, and it was AMAZING.

I love feeling light after a dinner, instead of overly stuffed and heavy.

It's easy to do with all these fresh summer-time veggies.

I am including this week's "CSA Farm Box" recipes in the photos if you'd like some inspiration.

🌻If you’ve ever visited, you know the vibe! We have hands-down, the most fantastic community of people who visit us Monday through Saturday.
🌻We are very blessed in that our customers are gracious, inspiring, friendly & warm.
🌻We’re looking for someone who can match that energy, provide excellent customer service. Plus: help us maintain a beautiful, clean atmosphere, and efficient, well-running market.
🌻 We can train the right individual to make excellent well-crafted coffees, if that’s currently not in your wheelhouse.
🌻 This is a very active job. Individuals must be able to walk, stand, lift and carry heavy produce, and navigate a flight of stairs multiple times a day.
🌻 Please send your contact information, pertinent job experience and availability to [email protected].
🌻Thanks for reading!

About the M-88 Detour... M-88 is being worked on near Ellsworth Road. If you are coming from US 31, East Torch Lake Drive or the West side of Ellsworth Road... You can come straight here, no interruptions.

IF you are coming from the east side of Ellsworth Road (like the village of Central Lake), you can use GPS to bypass it with back roads or just take Old State, to East Torch Lake drive, to M-88, then turn east (right). We're right up the hill!

Providence Organic Farm, Market, Cafe & Natural Food Store is open 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, every day but Sunday!

We harvest certified organic fruits and veggies 6 days a week, constantly filling our market with goodness. Our cafe serves literal "farm-to-table" food, fresh pastries and organic coffee drinks for dine-in or "togo".

😊 - Have a great day! Farmers Andrea & Ryan

Recipe of the day? I made this roasted beet salad for dinner. So vibrant, good and easy! Bonus? It made for a delicious cold salad the next day too! - Andrea (Baking Dish in photo is by our potter, Barry Braun from Swallowtail Pottery, and you can find all of these ingredients at our farm market, open 8 to 6 every day but Sunday.)

You’ll need:
- 2 bunches heart-healthy beets
- 1 Tb Fustini’s olive oil
- 2 sweet white or yellow onions
- sea salt & fave seasonings
- fresh squeezed lemon juice (I used one very juicy lemon)
- one bunch parsley, chopped fine
- 1-2 cloves garlic, pressed
- soft goat cheese

Instructions:
- Set oven to 425 F
- Grab 2 bunches beets, separate greens (store in plastic in fridge to sauté later)
- wash, dry, trim beet ends, then cut into similar bite-sized chunks
- Grab two white or yellow sweet onions, and chunk into eight pieces each.
- Toss beets and onions w/ olive oil, sea salt, and your favorite seasonings (I used Himalayan pink sea salt & organic Berbere seasoning from Frontier)
- Spread it all out evenly on a 11 x 15 roasting sheet. (parchment paper would be nice here to avoid a sticky mess.)
- Roast until beets can be easily pierced with a fork
- Remove from oven, toss in fresh lemon juice, pressed fresh garlic, and minced parsley
- Serve w/ soft goat cheese!
