Prairie Lane Farms Katahdin Sheep We raise registered Katahdin sheep. All lambs are weighed at 60 and 120 days and we are enrolled in NSIP.

Our goal is to raise sheep that have great conformation as well as performance.

These are a couple pics of fall ram lambs that are available. All are natural born fall ram lambs from our fall lambing ewes. These yearling ewes got on the trailer Sunday to find their new home in the Bahamas. We also exported 2 yearling rams sending a total of 7 sheep. This was our first experiernce exporting and it went pretty smoothly with our agent Tony Clayton and Dr. Calhoun at Audrain Veterinary clinic. Lots of testing and details,but we had lots of support. Due to this sale, we will not be consigning to the Ohio Showcase Sale in May. Watch for our online sale with Integrity Livestock sales on Monday, June 1 and our consignments to the Midwest Sale. Coo!per said maybe we should plan to go visit these sheep! This climate would be a great change from our winter here.

Introducing our new stud ram purchased at the Midwest Sale from Dave and Jane Smith. He is DJSMITHSCD8270, Excalibur, purchased jointly with Roger and Carolyn Smith. He has been running with the ewes since August and has really maintained. His first lambs are due to lamb in January

We finally got our fall lambs weaned and I got a chance to get some pics. All of our fall lambs are sired by NIghtstalker and we are impressed with his first fall lamb crop. All of our fall lambs are natural born fall lambs with no hormones or CIDRS and they come from ewes that consistently lamb in the fall. We had 21 ewe lambs, 13 have adjusted 60 day weights over 60 pounds, and 5 have actual 60 day weights over 60 pounds. We are also impressed with his rams, but Nightstalker really nailed these ewe lambs. The all white picture is one of our ram lambs.

Fall lambs are fun to watch grow. Here are a couple sired by Nightstalker, who is sired by Achilles. The brown one is a ram and the other is a ewe. Most of his lambs have some color, as we didn't get very many solid white.
