This is Amy, showing off our first calf of the season. Last year the vet told us that Amy was open, so we were a bit surprised by the calf's arrival. Suitably, under the circumstances, the calf was born on April Fools Day.

This is HSY Miranda 20A34. Miranda was the blue ribbon Spring Yearling Heifer at the 2022 National Western Stock Show.

This is HSY Bruno 21A24. Bruno was the Blue Ribbon Summer Bull Calf at National Western Stock Show. Bruno earned a Gold Medal in the Pen Evaluation. Bruno was the third place calf in the Fiber Division.

This is HSY Dobson 21A27. Dobson was the High Point Champion at National Western Stock Show 2022. The High Point Champion is the yak that earns points in all three divisions (pen, fiber, halter), with the highest point total. Dobson earned a gold medal in the Pen Evaluation. Dobson was the Grand Champion Yak in the Fiber Division . He was the 2nd place Spring Bull Calf in the Halter Division.
Dobson is for sale. $5000.

This is HSY Freden 16C11. Freden is the 2022 Grand Champion Female in the 2022 National Western Stock Show (Halter Division).
Freden's 2021 son, HSY Finn 21A31 was the Grand Champion Male in the 2022 National Western Stock Show (Halter Division).

Millie turned 30 years old on January 1, 2022. Her registration certificate says she was born January 1, 1992. Of course no one really knows how old she is, reliable records were not kept before the registry started that year. Millie was the alpha female in Jerry McRoberts' herd, then the alpha female in Mike Swartz' herd. She was the alpha female in our herd during her first ten years with us.
Millie has cataracts and arthritis. Mostly she doesn't care about being in charge anymore. Still, when I gave her grain on her birthday, no one dared to try and muscle in.
