Messenger Century Farm

Messenger Century Farm Maple syrup and Blueberries Bill and Dee Belew purchased the farm from Louis and Helen Messenger in 1992. Horses are still being used to move and haul equipment.

The Messenger family had produced syrup since the mid 1800s. Since 1992 the sugaring operation went from buckets and horses to tubing. Three generations of the Belew family work diligently today to maintain, tap, and boil. Our original sugar house, although now vacant and reportedly the oldest sugar house in Geauga County, still stands as a constant reminder of days gone by. A 1910 farm building h

as been converted to our new sugar house with latest new "green" equipment. Be sure to keep up to date on our page to see when we are boiling so you can see the operation running and in July for Pick your own Blueberries or to purchase blueberries.You are always welcome to stop in at any time to see the sugar house and farm and to purchase our products on our country store porch.

Fresh produce season is here 🍓🥗 Before tossing your containers into the recycling bin, here’s a helpful reminder...

Plastic produce containers like berry clamshells, salad containers, and other clear produce packaging are not recyclable in our drop-off bins. Even if they have a recycling symbol, they are not accepted through our local program ♻️

An easy rule to follow: if it’s not shaped like a bottle, jug, jar, or can, please keep it out of our recycling drop-off containers. Another easy way to reduce waste? When possible, skip the extra packaging and use reusable produce bags on your grocery trips 👏
