Whats in a name? I have had numerous people ask "why cowpony company and whats it mean?" Well its kind of one of those names that just fell into place!
First off, a cowpony was a term used by the original cowboys to describe any horse/pony, regardless of size, that they used on the range or ranch to move cows. Its a term that is still used today in reference to small "cowy" little horses.
A few years back, I started playing around with some leather work and making little baby sized chaps for my then infant daughter. Someone gave me the grand idea of selling them!! And although I never got around to that, but its on the list! I decided I needed to name a little company that could encompass all the things I wanted to make, with a western flair to it. As I was looking out in the pasture my gaze stopped at the little 13 hand built like a tank, palomino pony that was dozing in the sun. Cowpony company- something different and unique that just seemed to fit!
Fast forward a few years and things have shifted slightly, a greater emphasis on my goats milk soaps and lotions has set most of my other ventures to the side for now, but I have high hopes of bringing some idaho home crafted western decor, candles, baby chaps, and maybe some tack back into the mix!!
Hope that introduced things a bit more, I am going to have t push to be more active on here letting everyone know what events I will be at and all the new goodies I will have!!
